The Food Sense Tour comes from a desire: traveling in South America. We also wanted to make sense through our trip. Since the three of us are fond of social entrepreneurship, the theme of the project was obvious.

 

It was hard to select a precise theme to explore within social entrepreneurship, every topic was interesting: environment, finance, nutrition, health... First of all, we chose three main area to study - women, education and  sustainable development - thinking that each of us would pick one and study it deeply. Then we realized we would need at least a year to reach our goal. In the end, we decided to choose one area, the sustainable food system. The food industry is a very wide subject, that generates thousands of social, ecological and sustainable initiatives around the world. Indeed, not only do we want to discover the south-american culture, but we also want to think about how  to reproduce the models we are about to discover, by studying their viability in Europe.

 

Then we had the Idea, the conneting thread that convinced us we made the right choice. From the Seed to the Table. The concept is simple: in order to get a global view of social entrepreneurship regarding the sustainable food system, we will study companies that match each step of the life cycle of food products:
